STRIAE I - Studio & Projects x Odabashian

The STRIAE I rug focuses on the interplay of rational linear elements with more organic groupings and expressions of those elements. The lines and bands evoke a sense of rhythm and movement, moving across the rug’s surface in a combination of light, color and texture. Echoic rug collection was developed from design explorations of juxtaposed rigid and organic grids, asymmetric rhythms, and natural forms. Key inspiration was found in West African and African American textiles and modernist art and artists such as Felrath Hines, Paul Klee, and Ruth Asawa.
